There were days when I felt overwhelmed and doubted myself, but I kept going because I had to. My children depended on me, and that responsibility gave me the strength to push through even the toughest moments.

After having my kids, my body changed in ways I didn’t expect. My postpartum belly was the most noticeable difference, but over time, I started gaining weight all over my body. It became frustrating, especially because every time I lost a little weight, I gained it all back. Consistency was hard to maintain, motherhood was exhausting, work was demanding, and I was dealing with the emotional toll of a toxic relationship. first, I blamed it on the natural changes that come with motherhood. But as the weight kept on piling, I realized there was more to it.

Actually, things had gotten worse when I started using a contraceptive that caused significant weight gain. It took me a while to realize that the contraceptive was affecting my body and making it harder to lose weight. It took me a while to connect the dots, but once I did, I decided to take control of my health.

The Turning Point: Taking Charge of My Health

The first step was removing the contraceptive that was contributing to my weight gain. Then I noticed a difference. My body started responding better to my efforts, and I felt more motivated than ever to get back in shape. This decision marked a turning point. After taking it out, I noticed better results when I exercised and adjusted my eating habits.

I used different methods to lose weight based on what felt right for me at different stages:

It's been a moment we talked. Hope you all are doing well.

I just got out of a "functional freeze" and now I feel good writing this post. A functional freeze is similar to a writer's block but it involves the lack of motivation or energy to do many daily tasks in your life. Itt often occurs after a period of intense work or focus to achieve an objective which makes your brain go to rest mood. I didn't understand this until I saw a video on Tiktok talking about it. I'm glad I found that video because it helped me understand what I was experiencing and eventually a solution. That said, let me share with you guys how things have been going lately.

Life Update | Losing more weight & Self grooming

My weight loss so far

A while ago I told you guys about my weight loss journey and since then I've made more progress thanks to more intermittent fasting. I honestly didn't have the strength to workout since I was fasting and I didn't feel like it mentally. I don't know yet how much I weigh now but my body has really improved. I'm proud of myself because the fasting wasn't easy but I did it. I fasted from about 8 pm to midday the next day for a little over a week. During my eating time, I ate normally or just what I needed. I didn't try to eat too much or more than I needed to.

Fitting into clothes is much better though my belly still stands out. But at least I can "suck my belly in" to have a flat tummy. Lol.

We are getting close to looking like the baddie we used to be a few years ago lol. The journey is tough but we thank God.

And with a touch of white hair color I've been able to pull the baddie look for a few weeks now.

Reconnecting with my younger version through self grooming

After months and even years of not taking care of my appearance as I used to, I decided to focus on grooming myself back to my younger self. Lol, it's not been an easy journey and I have been trying different things like getting a low cut and also trying different hair colors too. Although my main reason for cutting my hair was to have an easy and low maintenance hairstyle I also wanted to find my face, the face I know - My younger face. Now that I'm satisfied with the younger look, I feel like growing my hair again. We'll see. It's been fun and exciting so far with all the changes I have made with my hair. And I am glad I let myself go on this adventure to try new things and extreme colors.

The long holiday is over and I'm switching to back-to-school mood which is not easy. The school runs will begin very soon. I'm excited about the free alone time I'll get and at the same time I'm bothered by the early mornings I have to start getting use to.

Hope you guys are doing well.

I've been wanting to do this post for the longest time now. But life has been lifing.

It's been challenging to keep up with writing updates weekly so I thought it would be better to change it. We will now call our weekly updates Life Lately so that I can post them when I'm ready or able to. That said, here we go with life lately.

Life lately has been:

Busy and overwhelming these past weeks. If you didn't know, I am a social media manager and strategist for social impact (I work with non profits and charities). I am building my professional and personal brands and it is energy and time consuming. It's something I enjoy doing and like any other job it can be overwhelming. These past weeks have been survival mode for me and I'm on a mini break now to avoid burnout.

I'm making the most of the second half of the year. Evaluating and improving. also praying more and trusting God for the best because He is the Almighty God and I can only trust Him for all my needs.

I'm taking content creation even more seriously on this blog and my YouTube channel and will be more intense about creating content to inspire and inform ambitious women to become knowledgeable, as well as financially and emotionally intelligent. The tips are really practical and honest with a details of what I do for my self growth.

The determination to do this intensely for the rest of the year came from my desire to make this last part of the year count and also since I shared the trad wife post on YouTube which got more views than usual in a few hours. Watch the video here.

Life lately has been full of eye opening experiences especially career wise and much retrospection; I've been exposed to work experiences that will definitely help me in the future as a social media manager and strategist for social impact. There are fresh ideas to explore and I'll be doing that on my career page Kaolosphere.
