To tell you my little story, I had serious skin issues while I was pregnant and after I gave birth, they didn't go away immediately. To make carrot oil you'll need:

- Carrots

- Carrier oil ( it can be any pure oil like olive oil, coconut oil, etc)

To begin making your carrot oil this is what you'll do:

- Get some carrots, wash and peel. I recommend peeling if the carrots were grown with some pesticides or fertilizers. If your carrots are organic then you can only wash them.

- Grate the carrots into small pieces

- Spread the carrots on a tray and put them in the sun to get dry. Let it be brittle dry.

- Put the dry carrot in a bottle with a cork.

- Take your carrier oil and pour it into the bottle with the dry carrot. I used olive oil as a carrier oil.

Put the bottle in a corner of the house for at least two weeks so that the beta carotene can penetrate the oil. I keep mine in my wardrobe for about a month before use.

That's how easy it is to make carrot oil. And it works so well. Coconut oil is very good as well when used to make carrot oil. You can simply use this oil on your skin or add it to your cooked meals and eat it for glowing skin.

Organic vegetables usually have some holes in their leaves

This is because plants and animals grow together. There are insects and tiny animals such as snails and caterpillars that feed on the leaves of these vegetables. That's why they have holes. If there are no holes it means some chemical products have been used to make sure that the leaves are not eaten at all.

This is because of what we eat. We want to produce more and better but in the course of doing that we are destroying our beautiful bodies.

Most Africans don't know that moving from organic to chemically treated production is impoverishing our soils and killing our bodies and those of our children, therefore, making us poor. The western world is moving towards organic products because they have realized the bad effects of it while we are moving towards producing chemical food for ourselves. This is so sad!

Weekend Vibes

Overall, this weekend is going good so far. Today is Saturday and it's been tiring for me because I had to go to the market and do some cooking. It took me longer than I expected and besides, markets on Saturday are usually very full. This Saturday is a 'month-end' Saturday so salaries are out. Social distancing is forgotten at this point as everyone is trying to shop as fast as they can. There were long queues in cold stores where women were buying fish and also around 'Okrika' sellers who just opened new bails of clothes.

Apart from these things that caught my attention, I was shocked by a new discovery while I bought njama-njama (huckleberry).

Shocking but true!

I got to a vegetable seller whose njama-njama (huckleberry) seemed good. When I took a closer look, I noticed some blue stains on the leaves. This stain comes from insecticides, pesticides and other chemicals that are often sprayed on plants especially vegetables like green pepper and tomatoes. It was my first time seeing it on njama-njama and I was shocked!

I wondered if that chemical will ever get off those leaves completely when washed. It made me scared and I decided not to buy them. This discovery made me look at all the vegetables I saw with a lot of suspicions. I know that chemicals are used on crops but I couldn't imagine that they spray njama-njama which we eat the leaves directly. I finally got to another vegetable seller whom I asked if her vegetables were treated with chemicals and she told me the ones with chemicals had all been bought already. She gave a few factors to help me distinguish the chemically treated njama-njama from the organic one which I will share with you in another post.

I bought from her feeling relieved but hoping that she was saying the truth about her vegetables being organic. When I cooked the vegetable I was satisfied as I confirmed that they were truly organic. I'm eager to share with you how to recognize organic vegetables in my next post.

Surprisingly this week kicked off on a good note for me and I am so grateful for that. It has been evident in the increased desire to get things done and move on.

My Week So Far | Feeling Better & Wishing I Could Watch Big Brother Niaja Lockdown

After what happened on Sunday, I was surprised that I was able to feel better so quick by Monday afternoon. Maybe I've learnt to manage my hurt better. I'm working on doing another GLB hair products review video and blog post pictures. I hope it comes out better than the one I lost.

Moving on, I heard that Big Brother Africa Lockdown started this week! I haven't looked forward to watching Big Brother in the last few years but I wished I could follow up this season. Last year's show made a lot of news that I felt like reliving the vibration of Big Brother Naija. You may ask why I only heard that the show had started and that is because I haven't had the cable connected to my TV for many months now. My landlady who is meant to negotiate for that (because I paid a cable fee before moving in) is doing her own thing and I realized she doesn't want to pay the registration fee for me to be connected.

A cable guy came today and it's obvious that I have to register to get cable. That registration fee isn't small money oh (5000frs/$10) plus the monthly bill which he said is 2500frs. I wish to follow up on Big Brother Naija this year so hopefully, I'll connect the cable when I get the money. We may even talk about the highlights here on the blog from time to time especially as I have a number of Nigerians who read my blog.

Apart from that, my week is going on smoothly. I'm blogging and working on my school project one day at a time and it feels good. May this good feeling never depart from me in Jesus' name! Amen!

I said on Instagram that this post was going to be published on Friday evening. But I just couldn't get it done by then so here it is now.

I've been wanting to clean up my house for the longest time now and that's either the fault of laziness or not knowing how to go about it. But this Friday I had the courage and a good idea which made me do quite a good amount of organizing.

Why My Home Got So Disorganized

Being an entrepreneur at home is a bit complicated because I get to use part of my space to store my goods. This can make things to be so messy when you don't have a lot of space and when you haven't decided on where and how to keep them.

And that's exactly how I found myself in this messy house.

My day started with a lovely breakfast made of bread egg and composed pap. I called it a presidential breakfast and it was delicious.

I didn't even know I was going to clean as much as I did. This is what the house looked like before I started.

For days now, I have been doing general cleaning and I started with my bedroom. I stopped when I got to the parlour because I didn't just know where to start or where to put what.

This Friday when my daughter was taken out for a stroll I was blessed with the idea to move a cupboard I previously moved to the room back to the parlour. Actually, it didn't fit where it was placed in the room despite my cutting it to fit (I didn't take the right measurement lol).

My aim here was to send the business stuff away from the parlour and leave just the few I use quite often.

So I found a suitable place for the cupboard I moved and moved the bags of goods elsewhere.

In the meantime, I washed and treated my hair. Well, it was Friday but I woke up thinking it was Saturday (Saturday is my spa day) that's why I started treating my hair. The natural hair products from Green Life Bate are doing really good on my hair so I don't want to miss an opportunity to use them to nourish my hair.

It was quite tough to put this part of the house in order but it was possible and it looked good. I started at about 10am and ended at about 7pm.

I couldn't finish organizing the whole parlour but I'm quite proud of the outcome of the side I did. The other side where there's the Tv still needs to be arranged and till today (Tuesday) it is the same. I'll find time to do that sometime soon.

My daughter has already made me displace a number of things in the cupboard because she won't stop touching them. This is one of the reasons why the organization takes time for me. I have to think of the safest and furthest place to keep things that are harmful to her or things that she can easily destroy.
