My Hobbies Reset | Books, Banana Cake, and Growing Things With My Kids

Hi guys,

Hope you are doing well, and life is treating you well, too. Happy month of March. It's beginning to feel close to the middle of the year already. I'm sure some of us are asking ourselves whether we have started working towards the goals we planned to achieve this year.

One of my goals this year is to take my hobbies more seriously, and I have also decided to add reading to the list. I used to read a long time ago, and I enjoyed it. So I wanted to replace baking with reading so that I don't have too many hobbies lined up, but I haven't started reading my first book of the year, lol, and we are already in March. On top of that, I have already made my first banana cake of the year (I just remembered that I didn't take a picture of the delicious cake I made). I guess we will do all three then, lol (plant care, reading, and baking), at a healthy pace though.

The latest on my plants is that I decided to involve the kids to teach them about planting and plant growth. I planted some vegetables with them. The same vegetables I told you guys I harvested the last time. I planted the seeds I got from the previous batch.

They loved it and enjoyed spreading the seeds, covering them with soil, and watering them. They often ask to see how far it has grown after seeing that it has germinated. I am pleased with their curiosity, and explaining things to them in simple terms for them to understand is not easy at times, lol. But it is fun, and I love it.

We also planted some okro seeds, and I'm hoping it germinates because it's been weeks now. Plus, we planted some flowers, which haven't germinated either.

My old flowers are doing well. The snake plant is shooting out babies left and right lol, I can't keep up. I think it needs repotting, but this time I want to separate the plants and repot them individually for decoration inside the house. Since we moved to this new appartment my snake plant has been very happy, judging from the rate at which it is growing young ones.

I would say I've been more present with my plants since this year started, and it gives me joy to see them grow while hoping for the other seeds to germinate.

I'm also glad I moved my plants to my front balcony because it's now easy to take care of them from there.

Hopefully, I will start reading soon, and I'm eager to share my reading journey with you.
