I've not been very consistent with caring for my plants for some time now, but I planted some vegetables weeks ago and was thrilled to finally taste the fruits of my labour.
This vegetable is commonly called "green" or "folong" here in Cameroon. It was a small harvest but I enjoyed eating every bit of it. Knowing that pesticides and chemical fertilisers are used to grow a lot of things we eat these days, I felt safe eating my food because I grew it naturally.
To cook it, I fried it with just onion, oil and seasoning. I hope I will be able to dedicate more time to my plants and grow more edible plants. I guess I got disappointed after some peppers and one of my flowers didn't survive. That made me step back a little. But the rest of my plants are doing fine, and I'm grateful for that. I just check on them and water them from time to time.
Here are pictures of my harvest and how I cooked it.
