Update on my urban home garden
Let's not be distracted
Lately, I've wanted to explore what others are doing on the internet regarding lifestyle and personal blogs or content creation. I'm glad I did that because it opened my mind and made me more particular about the direction I want to take my blog.
In the cause of exploring, I came across the Facebook page of a Cameroonian blogger living in Germany called Nelle-Stern and in one of her videos, she mentioned something important. She said some people have to worry about what they will eat, where they will sleep and other basic necessities of life before they can think of innovating for their society to move forward. Meanwhile, there are others who do not have to worry about their basic needs and therefore have more time to focus on innovating and moving forward.
She added that this calls us to stay focused and not be distracted if we find ourselves in a situation where we have to provide for our basic needs before we think of innovating.
I feel so touched by this message because it requires double the effort to succeed when you lack basic necessities in life. It requires more determination and motivation. And it's easy to be distracted especially by social media and the "buzz" we hear or see every day.
Remember that we don't have time to waste especially when we are not privileged or have certain advantages in life. Yes, we need to relax too but let's not be distracted.
I really needed this hair wash
Just like this time when I needed a hair wash after almost two months of having my extensions on. My hair was really dirty and I'm glad the saloon owner really took the time and precautions to get my hair well washed.
As you can see in the picture, I used my Green Life Bate Products to wash and oil my hair and these products are really great. You can read my full review by clicking here.
The results. This is actually the next day after washing my hair |
I did cornrows or 'bakala' as we locally call it because this weekend I'm attending a wedding and I'm going to be wearing a wig. I would have loved to do 'rasta' but "ma money no reach" lol. So it's a wig for the weekend.
How to avoid falling sick
Causes and Treatment for back pains
What is back pain?
Pain or discomfort felt in the upper or lower back of an individual is caused by an injury or pressure exerted on the back muscles.
Causes of back pains
Standing, sitting, bending for long
Some work or daily activities may require an individual to stand, sit or bend over for hours. This can cause pressure on the back area and lead to back pain.
Pregnancy and motherhood
The weight of the baby during pregnancy can cause most women to experience back pain and this pain may last until after birth because it takes time for the muscles to heal from 9 months of pregnancy.
Also after birth, the continuous carrying of the baby either in front on the back of the mother or parent can cause back pain.
STDs
One of the signs of STDs is back pain. When STDs are not well treated they may cause back pain.
Menstrual cramps
Some women have painful menses and this is usually felt in the lower back area.
Toxins
The presence of toxins in the body can cause serious back pain. Toxins are consumed daily through food and drinks. Things like substances used to colour food and drinks like sodas and soft drinks are toxins that stay in the body for a long time. Also, pesticides and chemical fertilizers are dangerous toxins that can cause back pain and even cancer.
These toxins can be eliminated with the use of body cleansers such as:

How to prevent diseases
It's easy to fall sick these days because of the negligence in hygiene and the changing weather and environment which keep modifying themselves daily. Most plant and animal species are not very resistant to diseases, especially humans.
Sometimes it feels like the human body is failing in its duty to protect it from diseases and fight off existing ones. To help your body, here are a few tips to help you prevent diseases.
How to prevent diseases
Build your body's immune system
The key to preventing diseases is to build your body's immune system. When your system can fight off diseases on its own, it is possible to stay without getting sick at all.

Go for checkups
run check-up tests at a hospital from time to time. It could be monthly, every three months or six months or yearly depending on the illness you are testing for.
Treat diseases on time
If eventually you feel sick or begin to see the signs of an illness, consult a doctor and take the right medications before it gets serious.
Preventive care and habits
Habits like washing your hands often, washing food and fruits before eating, sleeping well, eating nutritive meals, avoiding foods with a lot of sugar and salt, drinking clean water, etc. These habits can keep you well for a very long time.
Now that Cameroonian 'Jellof' is trending...
Hey guys, hope you are doing well.
These past days have not been easy without my phone so I decided to go in for the option to weld the charging port. I wish I didn't have to do it but I'm glad I did because I can get back to creating and posting content on my other platforms. It's a temporal solution because I still intend to change the charging port to a new one.
The first thing I ran into after having my phone back was what Omoni Oboli said about Cameroonian Jollof. Her post is annoying and insulting but I'm glad about two things. First of all, I'm happy that Cameroonians didn't sit quiet about this. They spoke up and are still speaking about it. It shows that no matter the respect and esteem we as Cameroonians have for you we will respond when we feel attacked or insulted. The second thing is that we are trending, or Cameroonian Jellof is trending. It's a good thing because as far as I know, Nigerian Jollof gets its respect from the over-hype and not from its taste.
That said, I hope you are making the most of your weekend. As for me I only discovered this morning that today is Saturday. LOL
The picture is to make this post beautiful and not an illustration of Cameroonian or Nigerian Jollof. |
As if that is not enough...
It's annoying and not easy to be patient. But I have to do just that as I pray that it gets fixed soon.
That said, I hope you are doing well. Take care.
Hopefully, my phone gets fixed soon
With a smile, I warmed up my hands to type this post. These past days have been challenging as my phone got bad and it's been a bit stressful trying to repair it. That's why I haven't been very present online in producing content these past weeks.
Apart from me feeling better, I hope you are doing well and that all is well with you on your end.
Not being able to use my phone as often as I did force me to lean back and watch more TV. It also made me do some things I have been putting aside for later like organising products for my businesses - Ngumis and Bouncing Babies CMR.
These days I've been trying to do as much work as I can on my computer. My phone is at the centre of my content creation as I need it to take pictures/videos and edit and upload content.
Hopefully, my phone gets fixed today because the last time, I was told the part that needs to be changed which is the charging port of the phone wasn't available. I was given the option to use a cheaper method of welding the charging port which is bad but I don't think that is a solution that will last. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the new charging port is available at the repairer.
How to cook Nkumnkum (Dry cassava fufu) | Cameroonian Recipe
'Nkumnkum' is Cameroonian-made fufu also known in French as couscous manioc. It is different from water fufu because it comes in a dry form while water fufu comes wet. Also, the process of making and cooking them is different.
Here is how to cook 'nkumnkum' or couscous manioc
Ingredients
To do this you need
- nkumnkum to dry cassava flour and
- hot water.
Preparation
Boil water according to the amount of fufu you want to cook
Put in the fufu and stir till thick and mixed. If you are cooking it on a gas cooker you can put the pot down when you want to mix it.
If the texture is hard add some water (just a little) and let it cook on low heat for a few minutes. if the texture is ok then don't add water. Just put it back on the fire and cover the pot.
After a few minutes; put down the pot and mix the fufu very well till it's smooth
Serve with any soup you like.
I added this quantity of water to it because the texture was soft enough. Then I put it back for the fire and let it cook under very low heat for a few more minutes |
After that I took down the pot again and mixed it to be smooth |
