My goals for the rest of the year

It feels like December already I must say. The pressure to end the year well has already begun.

Goals unmet are causing stress and there is the desire to tick off things on our to-do lists.

Here are my goals for the remaining two months of the year.

To blog more

My focus now is on the place I excel in the most without struggling which is my blog. That's why I intend to write more blog posts.

To do "blogmas"

This should be interesting because I have never done "blogmas" before. I may also do "vlogmas" on my youtube channel.

To not feel like I'm missing out on anything

I read a post on Instagram about the end of the year being the season where people are going out and doing things and it's easy to feel like you are missing out when you see them share about it.

This is so true and I intend to work on not feeling that way this season.

To create lovely memories with family this festive season

The best way to not feel left out is to create quality time for family and make lovely memories.

To be prepared for the new year

It's true we don't need a new year to change our lives but I want to feel like I'm ready for the good things that will take place in 2022

Those are my goals before the year ends. What do you absolutely want to achieve before the year ends?

Hello November! Happy New Month

A happy new month of November to you.

We are officially just two months from 2022. This year has passed so fast I must confess.

How has the year 2021 been so far for you?

For me, it's been a year of discovery, adventure and above all survival. I have learnt to face my fears and have adapted to some uncomfortable situations too.

I'm grateful for every experience so far and looking forward to using it next year to move to the next level.

This feels like an end of year speech and yes it's almost Christmas so yes it's time to start making such speeches. I'm just going to be reminiscing till the end of the year.

To end the year in a fun and interesting way, I'm considering doing "blogmas" on this blog and "vlogmas" on my youtube channel.

PS - I'm really feeling like a blogger as I write this post for some reason. It's been a while since I felt this way especially as social media apps have been taking over the internet. I had to get back into my spirit of blogging and it's now like blogging slows in my veins.

My return to being creative

This title is enough to publish this post because indeed I'm here to announce my return to creativity. But before I hit publish, let me tell you a bit more about why it's important to me.

This is major for me because I have stayed away from my creative side for a long time now. I've had two kids in three years by C section and that has made me slow down on a number of things including my creativity.

Digging deep into my creative potential makes me so happy and alive.

It's not like I wasn't being creative at all - I have been blogging/writing as much as I could. But being able to write and create fashion pieces makes me feel blessed.

What I am doing/did

- I'm waking up with a creative spirit.

- I'm getting inspired by the creativity of others.

- I took out my sewing machine, and I'm writing blog posts.

- I'm working on new products.

And this makes me feel good.

I'm looking forward to sharing my creativity.

Life lately | I lost two jobs in two days - Fired before I started!

Hope you are doing well.

Life has been ok and many things have been going on. I'm blogging full-time now and I'm loving the time and energy I am dedicating to my blog and social media.

I want to share with you how life has been for me these past weeks.

I lost two jobs in two days!

This is the reason I am blogging full-time now. Like I said I technically lost two jobs because I was fired from one before I started and I resigned from the other.

The one I was fired from, I was no longer accepted because I tried to negotiate the salary. Funny as it sounds, this hurt me so bad and made me depressed for a bit. But it made me feel like giving more time to my own blog and personal stuff.

This made me decide to end the job I was currently doing as well. I didn't feel valorized in the job and it was stressing me the most. So I resigned.

It was very relieving to stay off that job. I have more time to focus on more things especially working on my personal brand and business.

My garden is doing well so far

After cleaning my garden the last time and harvesting I planted new waterleaf and more green pepper. I recently added some onion to it.

The cocoyam leaves are bigger now and I have even harvested the new waterleaf planted already. I managed to get rid of the bugs that were making my plants not grow well but there is still some retarding the growth of the first green pepper I planted. I read that neem oil can kill these bugs but I'm yet to try it. Laziness won't let me help these plants. I hope to use this remedy soon.

But in the meantime here is a view of my garden right now. I forgot to mention that my pepper plant which was attacked by the bugs is doing well now. I cut off the infected leaves.

How did we get here, By bus or plane?

Pekin way I born am yesterday o. He's already big enough to wear size four diapers.

My son is already seven months old. My postpartum body isn't reflecting that I gave birth seven months ago though but it's ok. I'm just grateful.

Paying more attention to my physical beauty

I'm putting more effort into packaging myself. Facials, pedicures, manicures and hair care improvement are coming up slowly but nicely.

I tried acrylic nails and it felt good to try them though they are pretty more expensive. I don't think I'll be doing it again though as I didn't really enjoy it. I want to go back to my regular nails.

I hope to do a review of my gel nails soon. For now, I wish for a proper facial done by professionals since the ones I have been doing have been done by myself with my Sivoderm pomade.

How to make yellow Garri from scratch | Cameroonian recipe

Garri is such a lifesaver to many in Cameroon, Africa and the world. It's a quick fix when you are hungry and can't wait for long. It can also serve as a main dish when it accompanies soups like okro.

Garri is a product of cassava and here is how to make garri from scratch.

Peel and wash the cassava.

Grate it. You can also grind it with a machine.

Mix the paste with some palm oil.

Some people put palm oil while they are frying. It's still ok; But putting oil after gratering makes it eas to fry.

Put it in a rice bag and squeeze out the water.

The local way to do this is to use sticks like in the picture.

Make sure it is very tight to remove all the water. It may take days to squeeze the water out.

Keep tightening the bag between the sticks so that it gets quite dry.

If the garri is not quite dry it will have lumps when you fry it.

When the garri is dry, use a special sieve to sieve the garri to become powder.

This one was made from zinc. Other local sieves often used are weaved using bamboo.

After sieving, fry the garri.

Keep stirring as you fry to avoid it burning or having lumps.

When it's done, spread it on a flat surface or bag.

My pregnancy-will-humble-you challenge

The #pregnancywillhumbleyou trend reminded me of the changes I have experienced in my life in general since I became a mom. My routine, lifestyle, goals and body have changed with the most remarkable change being my body and my fashion style.

Before motherhood, I was so invested in self-care and looking peng. My pictures at the time can tell.

Three years later, motherhood has taken the most of my time, energy and focus and here we are. Still peng but in a motherly way.

There are moms who are able to keep looking good and young during pregnancy and seriously, I wonder how they do it.

Changes during pregnancy, childbirth and care are major and I'm still recovering from these things.

I want to look the way I looked before but I realized it will take a lot of work and discipline. today I was thinking to myself that it takes a decision, determination and hard work to go back to look as peng as I was or even better. I'm willing to do what it takes but working on a program or routine run by my kids makes things even more complicated.

I'm not making excuses trust me. I feel bad when people say mothers use kids as an excuse to let themselves go because as a mom it's not easy and it takes extra effort to take care of yourself when you have kids.

So I'm making the effort to look peng and increase the efforts as I get used to it. It's like learning something new and I'm sure the outcome will motivate me to do more.

That's why I want to reach that level where I feel successful to show them that they can achieve their dreams.

Talents I don't want to waste

My talents inspire me to use them. Content creation enables me to use a lot of my talents and well as my drive for business. I feel like practising the things I love doing and that inspires me a lot.

I want to help people

I want to help people. I love sharing my knowledge and discoveries to help others succeed too.

If you buy fish in bulk and want to store it for a while then it is important to clean it properly before storing it.

Cleaning the fish before storing it makes it easy when you want to cook.

Here is how to prepare your fresh fish for storing in the freezer.

- Cut the fish to your desired size and take out the fins, gills and dirt in the stomach.

- Put the fish in a bowl of water and add some salt and vinegar. You can use lime or lemon in the place of vinegar.

- Wash the fish in the mixture and take it out of the water.

- Rinse well with clean water and drain.

- Tie in packages and store in the freezer.

I cleaned my balcony garden | See my harvest

I harvested a hand full of waterleaf from my balcony garden and I feel so happy. I also cleaned my garden after that and transferred some green pepper I nursed. The waterleaf I harvest will be sliced and used to garnish my soups and the little tomato I harvested 🍅 I will munch raw. 😋

Gardening makes me feel good. This is surely a hobby to have this small garden but I love the produce I get.

It's all clean now for new water leaves and green peppers to sprout and I have my fingers crossed for them to do well.
