Most bloggers start blogging for fun or because they have a passion for it. From the beginning, you just want to share your ideas with the world. You just want to bring people into your world and share your way of seeing things.
But as time goes on and as you search for ways to grow your blog, you come in contact with lots of information that encourage you to write mostly to satisfy your readers.
Writing about things you feel passionate about
It's your blog after all. You can say anything you want, write about what you want. It's all about writing what you are passionate about. And that is what a blog needs to survive or live long. The writer has to be passionate about the topics he/she is writing about or they may not be able to keep it alive for long.
Blogging is also a way of showing people a new way of thinking - your way of thinking. It is bringing your readers into your world to discover new things and let them like your way of writing too.
If you are passionate about something then write about it. Don't let what others think about blogging limit you. If you want to start a blog on many topics then do it. If you want to have a niche blog then do it. Put your content out there! Have fun with it! Let people fall in love with your content and personality.
Striking the balance between satisfying your readers and your passion
Some topics do attract more readers than others. But a blogger may not be passionate about writing on topics that many readers are interested in. It can be hard to blog about things you don't really like. It can make blogging to become a chore.
You can still write about what you are passionate about and make it interesting for your readers. No matter your niche, it takes time to build a blog with many readers. So it's better to take time and build a blog and content that you will enjoy writing about for a long while.
You can make your readers like your content by the way you put it out there or the angle from which you write it. Or your opinion on the subject.
As much as you want to increase your readers you also want to stay passionate about your content too.
If you are thinking of starting a blog or already have one, are you really passionate about what you write about or is it all about what the readers want?
