Christmas Chinchin | Cameroon Recipe
Chinchin is a delicious snack, especially when it's made to your taste.
We often make this snack during Christmas and enjoy it before and after the main Christmas meal.
This recipe is one I grew up making with my family, and now I make it for my kids. It's simple and very delicious.
Ingredients
- Flour
- Milk
- Vanilla flavour (optional)
- Magarine
- Nutmeg
- Sugar
- Eggs
- Baking powder
Process
- Sieve the flour, add baking powder, and grate the nutmeg into it. Mix.
- Put in the margarine and rub it into the flour till it's evenly smooth.
- Beat the eggs, add the milk to it, and add sugar. If you are using vanilla sugar, you can add that too.
- Add this mixture to the flour and mix. If the mixture is too dry, then add a little water and mix till you get a consistent dough.
- Use a rolling pin or a clean, smooth bottle to flatten it on a clean, flat surface and cut it into bits, and then fry it till its brown.
- Enjoy.
