The creation process is what makes the story of your art so keep that in mind. Creativity is more profound when it is backed by a story. That story will be created alongside the process so you should love the journey of your imagination coming to life.

Another thing that can make you fall in love with the process is thinking about telling your story - which is the process of creating your art. This story gives value to your art as well.

You also need some patience to love the process. I must tell you that not every part of the process is enjoyable or exciting. Maybe the thought of what you want to create will excite you but the process will be painful and boring sometimes so you have to practice patience. Invest your time in repeating the process and you will see that you'll begin to enjoy it.

The road always seems long when we travel it for the first time. But when we do it over and over again it seems shorter.

This brings me to the point that it's when you create over and over again that you love the process even more.

So create some more, be patient as you create and use the process to tell the story of your art to stay motivated.

Having goals is very important to personal growth. But it can also be difficult to have goals when faced with certain situations.

It protected my mental health

During the Covid pandemic, all that mattered to me was surviving and dealing with the fears. That's why my mental health was a priority. It was stressful enough to watch the news, avoid contact with loved ones and prevent getting sick in other ways. Setting goals and accomplishing them is not easy so the addition would have been greatly felt on my mental health.

It made me have a stronger comeback

Because I put a pause on setting goals for two years, I felt a rage of desire to get back to my dreams when the pandemic declined. The desire to make up for lost time made me come back to goals setting strong.

This is how not setting goals at the time worked for my good.

During the years when Covid was at its peak (2020 - 2021) all that mattered was surviving the pandemic and dealing with the fears or uncertainty it came with.

This was tiring enough for me and I decided to take it one day at a time. No major goals or long-term goals.

But in 2022, I was more motivated to set goals and accomplish them in the course of the year. Things I did and I have seen growth in different ways.

Why I quit not having goals

- The warrior in me woke up again. It was certainly the set time God had set for me to start making things happen in order to accomplish the things I was meant to accomplish.

- Covid was fading away, especially in African countries and life was getting back to normal. So fears were fading away too and more courage was setting in to do things in the long run.

- Two years of intense Covid created the need to catch up on the lost time.

How having goals is helping me grow in 2023

I started setting goals again in 2022 and it has given me a better vision of who I want to be and what I want to do in 2023.

The experience I have gained so far from the goals I accomplished last year will help me do better in 2023.

2022 has been such a rollercoaster for me but there are still goals I accomplished during the year.

Blogging consistently and getting more blog views

Not as consistently as I wished but my frequency was way better than last year. I published a post every month. My views increased again despite the fact that I separated my food recipes and blogging tips from this blog.

Understanding and finding the right direction for my personal brand

This one was a tough one because I do many things - I own 3 businesses, I am a content creator and I am a social activist. Added to this I encourage African women to follow their dreams by sharing with them my knowledge and life experience.

Relaunching my businesses

This was exciting because I had put a pause on business when I became a mom.

Understanding the business world and entrepreneurship better

This was also an important goal for me. The world of an entrepreneur is lonely but it requires a wide amount of knowledge to succeed. That's why I made it a priority to learn especially from other entrepreneurs.

- Look at their process or journey

You could be inspired by how they do what they do. Observe their methods and find the lessons they share in their experiences.

- Check for similarities and differences between their work and yours

Looking at this will inspire confidence in your work and the desire to do better.

- Ask yourself how you can apply what you learned from their work or process

Don't copy and paste; simply find a way to adapt what you learn or observe from other creatives. Remember you have your own goals and objectives which are not the same with that of others.

- Ask how your can be different from theirs

While watching those who have similar work as yours, find out how you can be different from them and create that difference to stand out.

Navigating 2022 | What big things I did in 2022 to create a better life vision in 2023

Your actions can either make you progress, regress or be stagnant.

Previous actions do matter when you have a vision that's why it's important to take stock of the activities that bring us closer to our vision.

Here are the actions I took last year that kept me in line with my vision for 2023

Focusing on money-making activities

Keeping your eyes on the money means focusing on the activities that make money. Improving my skills, learning more, searching and applying for new opportunities were part of this.

Persevere and persist through difficult times

Being patient wasn't easy in times of disappointment and when I wasn't able to do better than I wished but it was worth it. Things eventually got better and I am happy I didn't give up.

Put more effort during the last three months of the year

The last months of 2022 were very important as it was the last chance to make an impact on m goals. Putting in that extra effort to end the year on a high note made a difference. Producing more content, reading, attending training, some extra brainstorming and maintaining a warrior mindset really helped me get a clearer view of my vision this year.

Health tips for pregnant women

Pregnancy is a delicate period and special attention needs to be given to the health of the mother. Here are a few health tips for pregnant women:

- Drink a lot of water

- Have much rest

- Go for antenatal and appointments with the doctor

- Take care of your mental health and avoid stress

- Eat well-cooked and balanced meals

- Have sex often except if it is not recommended by the doctor

- Educate yourself about pregnancy and childbirth

- Take your folic acid, vitamins and calcium supplements as instructed by the doctor.

I must admit that 2022 was a challenging year for me. This made me modify and adapt to the challenges and goals to attain.

Here is how my lifestyle changed in 2022

I stayed up more at night

Working on my goals keeps me up at night but with the challenges I faced, I had to stay up longer. Not getting enough sleep isn't a good thing but the night was the only time I could work or think without interruptions. In order to stay healthy I had to catch up on some sleep during the day.

I prioritized my physical and mental health

I realized I needed to know when to take breaks and when not to force my body to do things. Even though I stayed up at night longer I also took breaks to rest when a particular task or emergency was over.

I also took time to relax my mind by watching movies or comedies or giving myself treats like satisfying my cravings and shopping for clothes from time to time.

I started waking up early on weekdays

My daughter started school and I had to wake up early to prepare her for school. As a content creator, I enjoyed sleeping till about 9am and sometimes midday when there's someone else to make breakfast for the kids. But this changed when school runs came into the picture. When I slept late and woke up in the morning feeling tired, I could only catch up on sleep after I took my daughter to school.

I started taking more time for myself

Longer time in the shower, more time alone with myself, eating alone - just doing things which I normally do with my kids alone. The kids are always clingy but since they are no longer babies I could leave them a few minutes with someone else just to take a break. It was great for my mental health.

Navigating 2022 | Lessons I learned in 2022

Hi and welcome. Happy new year. Hope you are doing well.

It's January 2023 and it's time to do recaps and take stock.

Last year I went through a totally new and different experience because I decided to set goals again and work towards accomplishing them.

In the previous years (2020-2021) I didn't set long-term goals and just took one day at a time. That period was the height of COVID and surviving the pandemic was tiring enough.

Here is what I learned in 2022

I've learned to accept the difficult part of the process

The journey to success can sometimes be boring and hard. It can even feel stagnant and needs a lot of patience to go through difficult moments.

I learned to wait for the difficult part to pass and put in the effort I could at the time.

Challenges indeed make you stronger

When you have no choice but to face your challenges you come out stronger from them.

Hard decisions are inevitable

Hard decisions had to be made and I actually learnt to make them. I did overthink sometimes before making some decisions but it was a relief after I decided.

Happy new year 2023 🎉

I feel happy with the way this year started for me. I took time in solitude to prepare for the new year and the crossover really felt refreshing because I was less confused about how to go about my projects.

I'm really grateful for the growth and lessons from last year. I'm happy that I'm facing this year more intentionally.

Above all, I'm grateful to God almighty for his ceaseless blessings upon my life ❤️.

We are doing better this year and I'm carrying you along my inspiring journey.
