This Morning’s Little Self-Care Moments
This morning I made us spaghetti for breakfast. Nothing fancy, I just stewed it and added some boiled eggs. Simple, quick, and filling. Sometimes, that’s all you really need.

I did a lighter pink on my fingernails and a bright orange on my toes. |
After breakfast, I decided to give myself a moment of self-care. I painted my nails while watching an old Nollywood movie by Teco Benson. Its title is Mission To Nowhere, starring Stephanie Okereke and Sam Dede. Teco Benson is one of those producers whose films we always looked forward to back in the day. This one was a detective story, and even though I’d watched it years ago in secondary school, I had forgotten most of it, so it felt brand new and exciting.
It reminded me how comforting it can be to go back to something familiar and enjoy it freshly. I felt relaxed, pampered even. Between painting my nails, watching the film, and the pedicure I did yesterday, I felt like I was choosing myself again, and I realize that’s something I need to do more often.
Nothing big, just little moments of care that make the day feel lighter.
