Ogbono Soup Recipe - Cameroonian recipe
Ingredients
Ogbono seeds
Leeks
Onion
Ginger
Crayfish
Okro (optional)
Smoked fish (you can use any fresh fish or meat)
Egusi
Palm oil (or groundnut oil)
Waterleaf (to any vegetable you prefer)
Prepping the ingredients
- Clean the brown bark on the ogbono seeds and fry them till a bit brown and grind it
- Peel and grind the garlic and ginger
- Slice the onion and leeks
- Debone the fish
- Grind the egusi
- Grind the crayfish to dust
- Slice the okro
Cooking
- Heat some oil and fry the onion and leeks
- Add some water and the egusi. Put salt and maggi and let it boil till the egusi is ready
- Add the ground ginger and garlic, the ogbono, crayfish and okro
- When it boils slice and add the water leaf
- Taste the seasoning and let it boil till its ready
- Serve with waterfufu or any fufu of your choice
